2025 Open Enrollment Details
Open Enrollment for 2025 begins November 1, 2024 and runs through January 15, 2025. However, you must choose a new plan before December 15 to have a January 1, 2025 effective date. If you shop for a plan after December 15th, your effective date will be February 1, 2025.
If you have received a letter from Connect For Health CO (arriving around Nov. 1st) that your plan is eligible for auto-renewal, you must shop before Dec. 1, 2021. Please contact me for help if you are confused by the options in your account. Make sure your income estimates, family size and elections are correct in your account. It will automatically renew at midnight on Dec. 1st into your current plan. If your letter says they are mapping you to a new plan, we must review and select your desired option.
After Jan. 15, 2025 Open Enrollment ends, but you may still be able to shop for insurance if you have a qualifying event making you eligible for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). Click Here to see the all of qualifying events allowing you to obtain coverage outside Open Enrollment.
If you are currently receiving Advanced Premium Tax Credit (APTC) , or think you may qualify, please estimate your 2025 Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) with your tax professional before you contact me. If you have questions about how to figure MAGI, you can use MAGI Calculator, go to www.irs.gov, or ask your CPA.
I am not licensed or authorized to help you estimate your MAGI. I always recommend estimating your income a little high to avoid being charged-back some or all of your tax credit if your income ends up higher than you anticipated. If you are unsure about your estimate, it is sometimes best to not take any advanced tax credit, but you will get it when you file your taxes if you were eligible.
If you decide you would like to go over plans with me first or have any questions throughout this process, I would be happy to recommend plans, explain the differences to you, and help you apply in the appropriate plans to fit your needs.
***Please note, that if your household size or income circumstances (+/- 10%) change during the year, these changes could reduce the amount of APTC, the tax credit you are eligible to receive. You must notify Medicaid if you are on Health First Colorado within 10 days through the PEAK web portal or to your county representative, or Connect for Health Colorado if you are on a qualified health plan within 30 days of any changes in household size or income.
In addition, you must obtain qualified insurance coverage under the individual mandate by January 15, 2025 or you will be LOCKED OUT of insurance until the next open enrollment in November for a Jan. 1, 2026 effective date.

Certified C4 (Connect for Health CO)Agent
Many agents in the State of Colorado do not want to get certified to offer plans on the Colorado Exchange, Connect For Health Colorado. This could be a huge disservice to you. They may recommend that you obtain your health plan off-exchange to simplify things. Many families qualify for tax credits to offset their premiums, but only if you purchase your plan through the exchange. In addition, if you have a setback causing a drop in income during the year, you will only receive the tax credits you were eligible for if your plan was purchased through the exchange. Therefore, I highly recommend doing this, even if you don't qualify for tax credits now. I will make the process easy for you to understand and accomplish.
